Faux Wood Peel and Stick Wallpaper

Friends Peephole Frame

All the wallpaper options out there can definitely cause some decision paralysis. Here is a super easy and fool-proof way to rule out some options, and find the perfect fit for you and your home! This process was so helpful when I was deciding on which removable wallpaper to buy for my apartment.

Step One: Open and download this Wallpaper Pricing Worksheet

This worksheet I made will store all of the information in your decision making process to help winnow down your options. Only fill in information in the blue boxes, and the rest of the spreadsheet will auto populate helpful information to use in your decision making process!

Disclaimer - if you download from Google Sheets and open with Excel, some of the formulas and formatting may not carry over. I recommend downloading and using as a Google Sheet.

Step Two: Measure your space and input dimensions to spreadsheet

Measure the width and height (in inches) of any walls you’re wanting to cover in wallpaper. Then, measure any areas you won’t be wallpapering on those walls (e.g. doorways, windows, etc.). Input all your measurements into the spreadsheet.

**TIP: Since I was aiming to save as much money as possible when I used this sheet, I also measured areas behind my headboard, dressers, and my couch as areas I wouldn’t need wallpaper. I knew I wouldn’t ever be moving that furniture, so I’m fine with those areas not having wallpaper behind them. Doing this saved me at least a roll or two in my total purchase.

Step Three: Gather options that you like!

Spend some time on Amazon, Google shopping, Wayfair, or wherever else you’re thinking of purchasing wallpaper from. Copy and paste the links to your favorite options into the spreadsheet!

Step Four: Input dimensions of wallpaper rolls

Rolls come in many different dimensions, and frequently one pattern or color will be offered in multiple sizes. The largest/longest rolls are typically the cheapest per square inch. Keep that in mind especially if you’re looking to cover a large area.

Step Five: Input pricing of wallpaper rolls

This is the main factor for me when deciding on wallpaper. Sure that $30/roll wallpaper is BEAUTIFUL, but not realistic with my budget, the size of my walls, and the fact that I’m in a rental. I don’t want to put too much money into wallpaper since I’ll be taking it down eventually.

Step Six: Time to analyze your picks!

Now that you’ve inputted all your information, it’s time to look at all your options and pick your favorite! The lowest priced option will show up as green, while the highest priced option will show as red. You’ll be able to see exactly how many rolls to order as well as the total price for your entire space.

Happy hunting! If you use this spreadsheet, I’d love to see how it works for you! Feel free to share and tag me or shoot me an email.
